Blog Entry #1 Discovering Food and Recipes - Daikon Radish


Radishes come in many varieties but two growing types.
1. The standard or salad type, sown from early spring until fall. Grows from 2 to 3 weeks.
2. The winter radish, or Daikon radish. This one takes longer to grow, about 60 days on average.

Today I bought a Daikon radish, cut up 1/4 of it and tried eating it with Italian dressing.  I ate 2 or 3 pieces while eating a salad but it was a bit rough to eat.  I'll have to look up more recipes to try better uses.
